A 1890 built period building, once a prominent lodging in Pefki village on the island of Crete. The building comprises of Romanati and Mitos houses, both fully restored in 2016 for private use and as holiday rentals. The typical Cretan architecture and its original features have been preserved and the guest is surrounded by history, tradition and authenticity. Τastefully decorated with antiques and custom-made furniture, while modern amenities and appliances have been added for a comfortable stay.
The design of the building allows for the two houses to enjoy separate, private entrances, offering the option to rent separately or as one unit.
Romanati house has two levels. The lower level features a fully equipped kitchen-diner, a living room with fireplace, a twin bedroom, a bathroom with shower and a utility or laundry area. An extra room on the same level serves as extended living area or a third bedroom, depending on the needs of the guests. A balcony and a veranda offer ample shaded sitting and dining space.
The top level - or loft - comprises a large ensuite master bedroom with sitting area and gives access to a spacious terrace with splendid views to the gorge of Pefki and the Libyan sea; an ideal spot to laze with cooling drinks at sunset, or relax under the starlit Cretan sky in the evening.

Pefki village is a hideaway gem in Eastern Crete. Amphitheatrically set on 410 m above sea level and 7 km from the coast, overlooking the Pefki gorge and the Libyan sea.
It is handily close to the restaurants, bars and shops of Makrygialos, the golden beaches, hiking trails and attractions of the Eastern Crete. At the same time, it enjoys the tranquility and authenticity of village life.
The village has preserved many of the typical characteristics and architecture of local culture; small stone-built houses close one to another, cobbled little alleys, picturesque churches, a historic cistern, an olive press and a “kafeneion” (café/taverna).

"Nous nous sentons bien dans cette jolie maison blanche aux trois terrasses, nichée au creux de Pefki, village traditionnel à 15 mins au Nord de Markry Gialos. Chacun peut s'y reposer et tous ensemble vivre des moments de convivialité. De nombreuses plages sont à 15 minutes du village : Makry Gialos, Staoussa, Achlia...
